A self-diagnosed “tooth nerd,” Dr. Butler wants his patients to not only have straight teeth and a healthy, stable bite, but also a confident smile that lights up the face and reflects the patient’s unique personality. What really makes his day is seeing the changes, not only in the patient’s teeth, but in their lives as well.
He received his dental school training at the Oregon Health and Science University School of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors. Then, he went on to complete his orthodontic training at the University of Louisville, where he served as class president and earned both a certificate in orthodontics and a Master of Science in Oral Biology. During his education, he also participated in several research projects and was the recipient of numerous awards. Due to his excellence in clinical skills, Dr. Butler was also invited to serve as a teacher both during dental school and residency.
Born and raised in Southeast Idaho, Dr. Collette served a two-year LDS mission in Rome, Italy, before graduating from Brigham Young University, magna cum laude. He then went on to receive his doctorate of dental surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, one of the most top-rated dental schools in the country, graduating summa cum laude and second in his class of over a hundred graduates. He was then selected as one of three residents to remain in San Antonio and complete an additional three years of intense orthodontic training.
“I believe the best treatment philosophy is to treat my patients exactly how I would treat a member of my family.” With that in mind, Dr. Collette carefully listens to each patient’s desires and concerns to formulate a custom treatment and financial plan to meet their needs.
Dr. Porter graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 from Brigham Young University and went on to graduate at the top of his class from Creighton University, one of the best dental schools in the country. He then completed his residency in orthodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Porter comes to us knowing the latest in new technology and science in the orthodontic field. He has a passion for studying and understanding the connection between orthodontics, breathing and airway, and general physical health. When he was younger, Dr. Porter had A LOT of orthodontic treatment, which made him want to make the orthodontic treatment experience great for everyone.
Dr. Porter grew up in the Boise area, loves anything baseball and can even compose music. The only thing that matches his love of helping his patients is how he feels about excellent pizza.
